Why BIO-Verification?

The BIO-Verification application is a means of confirming a person’s identity through making use of fingerprint verification. This allows for more efficient service delivery with increased security for any business that chooses to implement biometric security checks through the Relevant Authority.

In order to verify a person using the BIO-Verification application, the applicants left and right fingerprint is captured. The applicant’s fingerprints are then sent to Relevant Authority along with their unique South African ID number in order to be verified. The results are then displayed on the screen, including the fingerprint authentication result, demographics as well as the ID photo if available.

Stats show that 80 percent of all south African citizens above the age of 18 have ID photos at Relevant Authority and that almost all citizens have fingerprints. Currently banks, micro lenders, investigative and security companies make use of this service, however the BIO-Verification can be implemented in any business that requires the authentication and verification of persons.
